My Make-Up And Me
Chloe Lawlor divides her time between modeling assignments and working for the Irish Cancer Society. She tells us all her beauty tips and secrets.
What is your typical morning routine?
I shower as soon as I wake up and spend ten minutes maximum on my make-up. I never have much time. I'm light skinned, like most Irish girls, so I like to bronze it up a bit. Elizabeth Arden and Rimmel Natural Bronzer works a charm, but easy does it.
Do you remember your earliest beauty memories?
My earliest memory is of my mum and her lipsticks; her collection is complete and she loves her bit of lippy. I remember being fascinated with it and with what she was doing. I think it's genetic because I can't find my way past it either - particularly loving Revlon Colourstay Lip Rouge.
What was the first product you ever bought?
My first experiences with make up were tragic ... and I do mean tragic. The one that springs to mind is painful to admit, but I remember buying a set of Argos make-up and heading out with my cousin Jessica for the night .I thought I looked fabulous, but photos from the time reveal I looked more like Crusty The Clown.
What's your top beauty tip?
I think with make-up practise makes perfect, but it's nice to get a bit of advice from someone who really has an eye. I get good advice from Rebbecca De Havalland and Jessica Marie Dean at my agency.
Do you go out without make up?
I love make up and I nearly always wear it when I leave the house. Even a bit of mascara can make you feel fabulous.
In the bag and on the wish-list?
I love Elizabeth Arden 'bronzed beige' because I think it gives a flawless finish. Rimmel 'natural bronzer' is a good powder and it's pretty inexpensive. For dark, smokey eyes Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on eye pencil and the cheeks bourjois little round pot blush. My lips tend to chap alot so lip therapy Vaseline or Revlon Colorstay.
What's the most you've ever spent on a product and why did you buy it?
I can't remember the most expensive but my most recent was Urban Decay Vol 2 eyeshadow set at Debenhams. Sixteen eye shadows, two eye pencils and an eyeshadow primer potion for just under €42.
Do you tend to go for bargain buys or are you swayed by the adverts?
Both ... everyone loves a bargain. Every now and then if you spend that little extra it can pay off.
Where do you head for a beauty fix?
Boots - I can't help it, I'm always in there. I'm considering buying a few shares since I've just got myself an Advantage Card. You can expect a leap in profits for the second quarter.
Is there a trend you would like to see come into fashion?
I love the whole Warhol look for Candy Darling or Edie Sedgwick. It's quite sultry but it looks natural at the same time. I'm waiting for Rimmel or someone to do a remake - I'd buy it in a flash.
Who's vanity case would you snoop in?
Cheryl cole or my mate Mab's bag ... both have a perfectly flawless look, it gets on my nerves sometimes.
Is there a product, secret or beauty tip that you couldn't live without?
Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on eye pencil amazing ... maybe I'm overstating this, but it's better than anything, ever.
