Mind the 39-year gap: Chloë Moretz and Michelle Pfeiffer's youthful red carpet turn
Despite their 39-year age gap, Chloë Moretz and Michelle Pfeiffer could have been mistaken for sisters at the London premiere of their new film, 'Dark Shadows'.
What a difference a year makes… or so we thought.
When film veteran Michelle Pfeiffer and her youthful co-star Chloë Moretz arrived at the London premiere of their latest film, watchers would have been forgiven for doing a double take.
Is that 15-year-old Moretz? No, it's actually Michelle Pfeiffer, who is just a few months off being 40 years her senior.
Stepping onto the red carpet for Tim Burton's latest offering Dark Shadows , all that separated the two (apart from 39 years on the planet) was a black belt and some light embroidery. Moretz, who plays young character Carolyn, chose an oxblood Broderie Anglaise minidress from McQ by Alexander McQueen's autumn/winter 2012 collection for the occasion, whilst Pfeiffer, who plays her mother, looked resplendent in… oxblood as well, wearing strapless Lanvin.
Add matching cascading blond curls, burgundy footwear (Pfeiffer in Sergio Rossi and Moretz in McQ) and what have you got? A perfect cross-generation red carpet match - the words mutton and lamb need not apply.
And of the fact that Pfeiffer could be Moretz's grandmother? We're choosing not to believe it - older sister maybe… at a push…
