Li-Ann stays cool as her Burberry star rises in Shanghai
Talk about doing it in style. Ireland's newest supermodel, 19-year-old Li-Ann Smal, celebrated her latest Burberry success in Shanghai with no less than Cara Delevingne and Suki Waterhouse.
To mark the opening of its massive Shanghai flagship store, Burberry flew in the models for an extravagant runway show, but the big news to celebrate this week is that the Irish model has been chosen to be the face of Christopher Bailey's limited collection at the Kerry Centre store in Shanghai.
And in typical down-to-earth character, Li-Ann celebrated back in London with "a cup of hot chocolate and a night bowling with my friend Niamh".
Back in Dublin, everyone is thrilled over the 19-year-old's meteoric success since her agent Anne Morgan of Distinct Model Management introduced her to the Storm Model Agency in London last October.
At home in Greystones, Li-Ann's Polish dad, Chris Smal, a zoologist and ecologist, and her music teacher mum, Hong Soon Har, from Malaysia, are keeping the cuttings; and watching eagerly are her siblings, a younger sister who lives at home and an older brother in New Zealand.
