Gold medal-winning Olympian Jessica Ennis wed in the same desginer as Reese Witherspoon
Olympic gold medallist Jessica Ennis married her childhood sweetheart Andy Hill in the Peak District this weekend wearing a Monique Lhuillier gown.
The dress, called 'Legacy', is part of the famed designer's spring 2012 bridal collection and is formed of white silk organza and features a v-neck and full floral embroidered A-line skirt. The athlete completed the look with a chapel-length veil and a posy of pale pink and cream roses.
The 27-year-old had kept resolutely silent about the designer behind her fairytale dress, though this morning London boutique Browns Bride tweeted "Congratulations to Jessica Ennis who married this weekend and looked stunning in @M_Lhuillier at Browns Bride", giving the secret away.
In choosing Lhuillier, Ennis follows in the footsteps of Resse Witherspoon, who chose a powder pink number for her 2011 wedding to Jim Toth. Lhuillier is also a prominent red carpet designer, regularly dressing celebrities for events such as the Oscars.
The poster girl of last's year's London Olympics had previously said that trying on her wedding dress was "the best day of her life because you never try dresses on like that, do you?" She's also hinted at her wish to move into the fashion world with a collaboration or clothing line or some sort, and if her choice of wedding dress is anything to go by she's certainly got an eye for style.
