It's in the bag: Darren Kennedy on the stylish backpack
Practical, versatile and always stylish, the backpack is this season's must-have
The almighty backpack is back and looks set to be one of this year's run-away trends. Yes, the trusty wear-with-anything-bag made it's way down a multitude of catwalks including Saint Laurent, Celine, Longchamp and Prada amongst many others.
Burberry's spring/summer 2016 runway in many ways seemed to herald a new dawn for the two-strapped bag with their nylon monogrammed versions looking like another instant classic. No longer the preserve of the student, it has received a more mature makeover. The ideal work-to-weekend bag, this season's version isn't any old knapsack - it's sophisticated, chic, work-friendly, and large enough to hold everything you carry around (laptop, tablet, and possibly even gym gear?). This new generation of backpack is structured and sleek with little or no hardware. Wear it which ever way you fancy - two straps over the shoulders, sling it over one shoulder, or grasp it by the top handle to carry like a purse. Either way, let a backpack add a carefree approach to your summer styling.
Emma Roberts made sure all eyes were on her as she arrived to the H&M show at Paris Fashion Week wearing a semi-sheer top with a high-waisted silk skirt. It looks metallic in pictures but it's actually powder blue with the top being completely sheer, of course. Despite flashing her bra, patent heels and a sparkly clutch added a few ladylike details.
