how to dress as a short woman who's heavier on top

I'm in my mid-20s and I'm quite short at just over five foot. I've 34D boobs and a bit of a tummy, but my legs and butt are quite slim. I have long, straight, brown hair. I'm hopeless at dressing for my shape, so I was hoping I could get some help. I'm looking for dresses, tops and jeans – anything really!

Sinead (26), DublinWhen it comes to dressing for your shape, the neckline is one of the most important considerations. As a rule of thumb, high necklines don't do anything for a fuller bust, only adding bulk and making you appear less shapely.

The V-neckline on the cute flamingo-print jersey dress at Alwear (1 €40) will bring definition to your bust while emphasising your waist. What's more, this dress stops just above the knee, allowing you to make the most of your shapely pins.

Wear with Zara's pointed, flat sling-backs (2 €49.99) and H&M's matt metal-look bracelet (3 €7.95) for a sweet daytime look.

Similarly, style Mint Velvet's scoop-neck asymmetric draped blouse (4 €109) with a pair of skinny jeans for a casually cool look that plays up all your assets.

H&M offers great value on basics such as skinny jeans and its collection of super-stretch slim-fit trousers comes in a range of colours for €19.95 (5).

Tap into this season's vogue for all things oriental with River Island's cream butterfly-and-floral-print kimono (6 €65). Layer over a simple scoop-neck T-shirt and a pair of short burgundy twill shorts to accentuate your slim legs (7 €9.95, H&M).
