The 23-year-old model is known for her iconic dark hair and gothic look and has posed in campaigns for the likes of Alexander McQueen and Marc Jacobs.
Taking over from Cara Delevingne, who was last year's winner, Edie picked up the stylish white accolade from photographer Tim Walker, who was presenting the prize.
Staying true to her punky look, the fashion star dressed all in black yesterday.
The ever-stylish model picked a baggy T-shirt, which she tucked into bejewelled boyfriend jeans.
In order to keep warm, she layered a sequinned black jacket over the top.
Proving she's got a good sense of humour as well as stunning looks, Edie poked a little fun at herself when accepting the accolade.
"Models don't usually have to speak so this could be a career-ending moment for me," she quipped.
Miuccia Prada for Prada was awarded the International Designer of the Year trophy last night.
In an exciting twist, A-list actress Gwyneth Paltrow was on hand to present her with the gong.
Long-time supermodel Kate Moss also wasn't ignored at the event, as she was feted with the Special Recognition Award to mark her 25 years in the industry.
The 39-year-old cuddled up in a wintry fur coat and wore a slick of red lipstick for extra glam.
