Although the singer has had to cancel her second date due to laryngitis, her fist date in Buffalo, New York went off without a hitch and she opened the show in a spectacular Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci get up.
The 25-year-old took to the stage in a floor-sweeping black ruffled silk crepe cape with an embroidered collar and a pair of black-and-white nappa thigh-high boots with lacing. She then whipped off the cape to reveal a parka embroidered with gold Riri-engraved bullets, a black and white leather "bondage feel" bralet and black silk and satin hot pants. Her accessories were equally as extravagant: a gold metal shark tooth necklace spelling 'RIRI' and some couture gold goggles.
"I enjoyed making these looks: Rihanna represents what young and amazing means today. She is punk and talented," said Tisci. "She offers intelligence, energy and pure beauty. Rihanna has what every girl aspires to have. She is the face of her generation."
Further cementing the pair's blossoming friendship, Tisci, who has helmed the house since 2005, also custom-created a T-shirt featuring Riri's face which she Instagrammed a picture of last week
Many of the other costumes for the tour were created by her personal costume designer Adam Selman, who also co-designed her range for River Island, although she's been sporting a few other designer duds, such as a Raf Simons T-shirt.
