Gift ideas for the big day at €2 to €22,000
High-end exclusive fashion gifts, limited edition collectibles, bespoke tech, not to mention a miniature electrical version of the car that dad wants, were some of the stars on opening day of the Marvel Room at Brown Thomas on Grafton Street.
Scott Ball (5) got behind the wheel of the Bentley Continental GT electric car (€495), one of the treats from the gifting space where prices run from €2 for a temporary tattoo up to €22,000 for a Céline crocodile skin handbag. Shelly Corkery, fashion director of Brown Thomas, has spent the last year selecting the unusual gifts.
Anastasia Kuchynskaya modelled a Dolce & Gabbana dress (€1,950) and heels (€745), and was pictured with the Zeiss virtual reality headset (€150), Jarre Aerobull speakers (€1,499) and Pryma headphones (€499), similar to the ones worn by Beyoncé.
And Santa could have a new solution for the late sleeper who won't get up in the morning. The "Clocky" alarm clock (€55) gives you one chance to get up but if you snooze, it jumps off your bedside table, wheels around your room and hides, beeping until you get out of bed to silence it.
