Getting a headstart on style for race fest
CATWALK models Linda Moran, Kamile Jucyte, Simona Vasiliauskaite, Leonie McGuigan and Ismay McVey (seated) were all dressed up for the official unveiling of the Galway Races festival.
The seven-day festival runs from Monday, July 30 to Sunday, August 5. More than 150,000 are expected, with a prize fund of €1.6m making it one of the biggest racing festivals in the world.
Details of this year's festival were announced and a new Galway Plate unveiled. Matthew Lynch from Dublin, a third-year industrial design student, won a competition to design the Plate. The original trophy, the 'Galway Salver', is currently housed in the National Museum at Collins Barracks. Andrew Downes
