Friday Fashion: Why burgundy is your must-have colour
There’s a new colour on the block for spring, and before you say powder pink or baby blue, you might be surprised to hear it’s burgundy.
Yes, not a colour you’d normally associate for spring but the dark sultry shade of burgundy has become celeb’s must-have red carpet hue.
It’s actually more versatile that you think. Of course, you could go simple and chic and just wear it with white, black or grey- super stylish, but it doesn’t really scream spring now does it?
We all know fashion is all about having fun, so dare to be different and mix it up with different shades and fabrics to really keep it interesting. To offset the sensuous tone and brighten it up for spring, style it up with a flash of cobalt blue for a fresh take or keep it sweet and pair with pretty pink. Just a splash of the wine shade will add warmth and depth to your look even if the sun doesn’t shine.

Working an off-the shoulder Zac Posen dress, Katie Holmes goes head-to-toe burgundy with patent courts and pared back hair and make-up, letting the colour speak for itself.
Going tone-on-tone burgundy from clutch to lip and topping it all off with a Elie Saab Winter 2013 Couture gown, Jane Fonda certainly sparkles on the red carpet.
