Forbes 'destined for greatness' top 30 under 30 list revealed
Alexander Wang, Joseph Altuzarra and Pamela Love are among those included on a list of the top designers aged under 30.
Forbes has released the top young people they think are destined for greatness in their annual 30 Under 30 – Art & Design list.
Alexander, 28, is one of the hottest new designers around. His love of tailoring and edgy masculine designs have won him fans the world over, and helped garner him a Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) womenswear award nomination in 2008.
Joseph has hit the headlines this year too, after winning the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund prize. He is creative director of Altuzarra, which he launched in 2008 after seeing most designers were only offering simple dresses and leisurewear.
“I want to create clothes for women in their 40s and 50s and 60s who have careers and are sexy and don't want to look like grandmothers,” forbes.com quotes him as saying.
After he was named as the winner of the Fashion Fund prize last month his latest collection quickly began selling out online.
Pamela was a runner up in the competition which Joseph won, and although just 29 she’s already worked with the likes of Marchesa and Zac Posen.
Actress-and-designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen also got a mention on the list, thanks to their “veritable fashion empire, including ultraluxe label The Row and customised T-shirt website StyleMint”.
Others featured include Chris Benz, Kiel Mead and Molly Yestadt.
