Victoria's Secret hosts its first ever Swimwear Special
Victoria's Secret is back on our screens.
After 10 years of the world's hottest fashion show, the lingerie giants aired their first ever swimsuit special in the US last night.
The Angels, including Candice Swanepoel, Behati Prinsloo, Lily Aldridge and Joan Smalls, all filmed the segment in Puerto Rico in December, just weeks after their first ever London showcase was aired.
Last night's show saw some of the world's biggest supermodels take to the beach playing volleyball, walking their dogs and posing expertly in the brand's sensational swimwear.
Alessandra Ambrosio said her favourite part of the show was getting competitive with her fellow Angels. "We had such a great time, we were shooting in Puerto Rico for a few days and I was with the other angels having fun. We’re so blessed to get to go to this beautiful piece of paradise.
"My favourite moment was when me and the girls got together to play volleyball. It gets pretty funny, we’re all very competitive but we had a blast. It was on and off raining every five minutes so we had to stop the game because we couldn’t get all the makeup and hair wet but it was fun."
If last night's special was well received, VS said they would consider doing more television segments.
Victoria's Secret President and CEO Sharen Jester Turney explained: “We (sell) about half a billion dollars’ worth of swim (merchandise) and we continue to expand the swim business in the store channel. I believe we have an opportunity to come out strong and own the spring season. We know it drives new customers to Victoria’s Secret — that’s what we’re after.
“We’ll hold off on telling you if we’re doing any more television. We’ll wait to see what happens tonight.”
