This Irish model just got the seal of approval from Vogue for her red hair
Irish model Lorna Foran has been given the Vogue treatment.
Independent.ie Style readers are no stranger to the 26-year-old from Kildare, who we have been not-so-silently championing since she burst onto the scene two years ago; but the international style bible has officially taken note.
American Vogue's website profiled the rising star on Wednesday after yet another successful turn walking for Gucci at Milan Fashion Week. She was first handpicked by the Italian fashion house to exclusively walk for them in early 2016 and since, she has walked for Miu Miu, Prada, Marc Jacobs and Christopher Kane - name a designer and she has likely worked with them over the last 12 months.
Over the last two weeks, she has walked in New York and London, flew straight to Milan and is lined up to feature in Paris next week.
But its her red hair that is her USP, something Vogue praises with appropriate aplomb. "Model Lorna Foran's Red Hair Is Gucci Runway–Approved—and Made for MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick," the headline reads, while tracing the turning point moment in her career as a photoshoot with photographer Harley Weird, who encouraged her to embrace her natural beauty: no self tanner.
"Harley didn’t [like me to wear] a lot of makeup. She focused on the fact that I look more unusual, [and that] made me look at things differently. Now I don’t mind my red cheeks. I don’t even notice them," she told them.
It's not the first time Foran has appeared in the prestigious pages of Vogue as she appeared in both the British and Ukrainian versions this year alone.
But the big reveal from the interview is that she isn't a natural redhead- she "even forgets" that her hair is naturally brown. With the news that Victoria's Secret has cast its first red-haired model (Alexina Graham), it's officially having a moment.
