There's a new Lidl pop-up on Grafton Street - but you can't actually buy anything in it
Grafton Street is getting something of a makeover lately.
After countless years of the same old stores, there's an injection of new life - Urban Decay, & Other Stories, soon-to-be-open Victoria's Secret and...Lidl. The German supermarket chain has opened its doors to its first Irish preview store, but there's a catch - you can't actually buy anything there. It looks like a store and it feels like a store: it has mannequins and stock in different sizes, but there's no till.
The Esmara by Heidi Klum pop-up shop on 32 Grafton Street fills the space previously occupied by The Loft café and now it's filled with discount fashion items which you can touch and try on, but you still have to go to a direct Lidl store to purchase something.
The purpose of the premises is to showcase their most high profile collaboration to date, a 20-piece collection with Klum, featuring leather jackets, skinny jeans, boots, scarves and dresses, all for under €59.99 available in sizes eight to 18.
The shop was opened to the press last weeks and its doors will be open to the public from September 14 - 17, before the pieces will be in Lidl chains around the country from Monday, September 18.
