Teaching student Sophie Edghill wins Best Dressed at Punchestown
Wicklow native Sophie Edghill emerged victorious in the style stakes on day two of the Punchestown racing festival.
The 20-year-old, who is studying to become a primary school teacher in St Patrick's College, was given the honour of Best Dressed Lady and has been fast tracked to the final on Friday which will be judged by TV presenter Vogue Williams.
"I was getting ready from about 8 o'clock this morning but I suppose there was lots of preparation in the run up to it beforehand as well," she told Independent.ie.
"I've never won a Best Dressed. I've always worn a dress, I've never worn trousers. I have two layers on under this coat so I'm warm."
Sophie's headpiece and trouser suit is from Buy Design, her bag is by Karen Milen, her coat is from Brown Thomas and her shoes are by Dune.
As part of her win, she was gifted with a luxury goodie bag which includes a €200 Topflight voucher, a bottle of Bollinger champagne and a custom made Montgomery Millinery Hat worth €250.
