Steal her style: Kate Bosworth to launch fashion app
The actress, model and clothes horse has announced her latest venture.
Kate, renowned for her elegant and refined personal style, is launching a Smartphone application called ‘Style Thief’ along with her business partner Samatha Russ.
The premise of the app is to “snap and steal”.
Basically Shazam for clothes, Style Thief will allow users to upload outfits they like, then search for and buy the items online.
The petite 31-year-old told Women’s Wear Daily that the inspiration behind the project were style mavens such as Cate Blanchett, Julianne Moore, and Alexa Chung.
"Everyone has fashion envy," she has said. "Everyone can relate to that feeling of looking at an editorial, for example — or a friend, or the runway, for that matter — wanting to steal something exactly as you're seeing it, or something similar."
Kate is also set to curate special collections for the app, and potential collaborations with brands and designers have already been hinted at.
This is Kate’s second foray into fashion tech- having launched the online retail site JewelMint with her stylist Cher Coulter in 2010.
Kate’s career has been intrinsically linked with fashion, having fronted campaigns for Vanessa Bruno and Topshop, as well as gracing countless glossy magazine covers, including Elle, Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.
