Tess Holliday finds it "surreal" to be on the cover of People magazine.
The size 22 model has become the first ever plus-size beauty to grace the front of the popular publication, looking positively radiant with her brunette tresses flowing and a big smile on her face.
It's a big accomplishment for Tess, who is overwhelmed by landing the job. Alongside a photo of the cover she uploaded on Instagram, she gave thanks to those who made it possible.
"Still beyond surreal to be on the cover of @peoplemag& have beautiful images shot by legendary photographer @jameswhitefoto ?? I told them I wanted to show my body off & they listened! This is something I will cherish forever. Thank you for all the love! @jrugg8@dsimrock #People #milkcurve#effyourbeautystandards (sic)" she gushed.
She also gave a glimpse at the inside spread of the magazine, which shows her cover outfit in full. Wearing a black bodysuit with long lace sleeves and leggings, she poses confidently with her hands on her hips in high heels.
In January Tess became the first size 22 model to sign with a major agency, and she's already landed jobs with big brands such as Benefit and Torrid.
"My phone still hasn't stopped ringing," she laughed to People. "It's good, but it's a lot!
"I just got back from London three weeks ago. I'm going to New York this week, then next week I'm going to Montreal and New York again. Then I go to Seattle, New Orleans and Vegas after that, all for work!"
It was a different story for her 14 years ago as she revealed no one was interested in hiring her due to her size and petite 5ft5in stature. Luckily she didn't give up, and her determination paid off.
"I just knew that I could do it," she added. "I wasn't the best, and I still am not the best. They key to it is just doing it."
