Lisa Cannon's Vera Wang gown fails to sell at charity auction
It was the dress that launched a thousand tweets.
Lisa Cannon's love it or hate it gown at the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards certainly caused a stir online, but the Xpose host's dress failed to sell at auction over the weekend.
Fair City actress Aoibhin Garrihy spearheaded the Armada Rail Sale in aid of Nepal, sourcing dresses from a host of famous faces including Rosanna Davison and Sinead Kennedy for fashion fans to bid on.
However, the statement piece was the only item not to sell at the successful charity auction, raising €12,000 in total for aid to victims of the Nepal earthquake.
"The day was a huge success with ladies travelling from Galway, Limerick Cork and Kerry to get a glimpse at the celebrity style and bag a bargain in the process,” Aoibhin told VIP Magazine.
“The Vera Wang dress certainly drew lots of attention with many posing for a picture with the guna but unfortunately nobody matched the opening bid on the day"
“However all the other celebrity dresses were sold, the raffle was a huge success and the crowds came in their droves, bringing the total figure raised for the Armada Support for Nepal Campaign figure to €12,000 and rising yesterday evening.”
It's likely Cannon is unfazed as she's busy planning her September wedding in Florence to Richard Keatley.
