If you thought your jewellery was safe from a technological invasion - you were wrong.

The folks over at Ringly are preparing to launch their new collection of rings which boast the same conveniences of a smart phone, including phone calls and internet and social media access.

The rings are hooked up to a mini Bluetooth chip synchronised to your smart phone and will flash or vibrate to capture your attention. The app is being made available on iOS and Android and allows you to determined the urgency of notifications beforehand.

According to retailers, the purpose is to allow people to still remain connected with the luxury of putting their phone down.

They are being sold in the US only (for now), with prices starting at $145 and plan to expand into other accessories over time.
