Meet Ireland's next top model.

Enniskerry native Avice Maughan may be just 16 years old, but she's about to make her debut at Paris Fashion Week.

The beautiful brunette, who is signed with Morgan The Agency, will be modelling at Irish designer Simone Rocha's showroom later this week.

At 5'9", she's a natural catwalk queen and has been steadily working across high fashion titles in recent months.

Maughan said she finds it 'surreal' balancing her burgeoning modelling career with her secondary school work, but has already developed an impressive work ethic.

"It's so amazing to have such a great opportunity like this," she told Independent Style. "It's all still so surreal. I really just can't believe how lucky I am.

"My school and friends are so helpful with it and email me all my work that I miss, so I can do it while I'm away. They're very understanding and are great at making sure I'm up to date.

"It's all about balance though, it unfortunately sometimes means a lot more work than play though, but I wouldn't dream of having it any other way," she added.

Avice said she always dreamed of becoming a model and when her parents finally approved the choice, she hotfooted it to the agency's open day and was immediately snapped up.

"It's always been one of those secret dreams of mine even when I was a child," she explained. "So, when my parents friends who used to model talked my parents into finally letting me try it, I wasted no time in going to Morgan's open day and it's all just been the most amazing experience since. I'm so glad I got the chance to do this," she gushed excitedly as she prepared to make her way to the City of Light for the conclusion of Fashion Month.

Avice is one of the Irish stars leading the fashion pack in Paris this week as she joins Castleknock native Laura O'Grady, who is signed with Select in London, has also jetted to Paris.
