Zoe Jordan pushes London look as she takes NY by storm
DUBLIN-born designer Zoe Jordan has taken New York.
The daughter of former racing boss Eddie had her first shows at New York Fashion Week over the weekend - and by all accounts it was a triumph.
The positive reaction to Zoe's SS15 collection which hinged around her signature style of the 'grown up tomboy' will reinforce her conviction that it was the right time to take her collection out of the London Fashion Week runway schedule and move it to New York.
"It's not forever. We are here to build up the brand, maximise exposure and go back to London with a much bigger brand," she told the Irish Independent.
Her dad, Eddie, couldn't make Zoe's 'Made' show because the Formula One commentator is working in Monza at the Italian Grand Prix. However there were lots of family and friends there to support her including her husband, Steve Aspinall, and her long standing friend, 'IT' girl Poppy Delevingne, whose sister Cara is one of the most in demand models in the world.
"I worked as a bond trader here 10 years ago and we lived in Alphabet city. It's nice being back. There's something about New York that makes you feel very alive in a way," said Zoe.
Her show opened with a silk shorts suit in a charcoal graphic print and closed with a distressed silver leather skirt and top.
Zoe's current AW14 collection will come to Dublin next month with a pop up shop at Havana in Donnybrook, Dublin.
