British Duchesses Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are without doubt two of the most influential females in fashion at the moment, with almost every item of clothing they wear selling out the instant the public finds out where to get it.

Kate, the impossibly elegant Duchess of Cambridge, has been shaping the stylish wardrobes of preppy-loving ladies with a penchant for nude heels, A-line skirts and a structured jacket for nearly a decade, while relatively new royal Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has been closely monitored by media - both traditional and social - as she transforms from yoga-loving cool Californian actress to a chic, sophisticated, fashion-forward member of the British monarchy.

Instead of adopting a more traditional approach to occasion wear like Kate Middleton's sturdy stock of pastel collarless coats and pleated midi skirts, Meghan has been keeping things decidedly more casual with her daywear, preferring jeans, crossbody bags and a messy bun as her emerging signature looks.

Her style for a recent trip to Dublin with husband Harry showed how she is equally at home in a power suit and heels in Croke Park as she is in a flirty and feminine Emilia Wickstead guna at a swish garden party.

While Kate has been praised for giving the high street a boost with her sprinkling of M&S accessories, Zara sundresses and Topshop jackets, Meghan has been enjoying her moment in the style spotlight by indulging in some very high couture indeed.

But just how do to the two Duchesses measure up in the style stakes?
