Style Diary: Makeup artist and fashionista Niamh Webb O'Rourke opens up her urban-inspired wardrobe
We got the lowdown on makeup artist and fashionista Niamh Webb O'Rourke's quirky and chic style.
How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my style as being very urban, streetstyle-esque. I like to be comfortable at all times and would rather wear a pair of trainers over a pair of heels any day! My style is a little different to the norm but I like that.
How long does it take you to get ready every day?
Generally 45 minutes to an hour. I work as a makeup artist so I always have to look my best, but if it was my day off I would literally roll out of bed into clothes so it would take about five minutes.
What are your essential wardrobe items?
For me, my wardrobe essentials are a good leather jacket because you will always wear one, a trusty pair of leather skinny jeans and a pair of Adidas Stan Smiths - I honestly wear at least one of these everyday!
What are your three desert island essentials?
My Charlotte Tilbury Instant Palette because it covers everything for my face, some Wonderglow Primer and of course a bit of Legendary Brow Gel because I can't face the day without my brows in place.
How did you get involved in the fashion industry as a blogger?
I started my blog during my year out before college, and never in a million years did I think it would become something remotely well known, nevermind that I would receive all the opportunities that I have! It is an amazing industry to be a part of with incredible opportunities so I am just taking everything day by day. At the end of the day, I am a country girl from Limerick, there is zero airs and graces about me so I just feel so completely lucky to be part of this industry.
Who is your biggest style influence?
Whenever I am asked this question I can never remember! Mainly English or Swedish bloggers like Megan Ellaby and her sister Faye, Fanny Lyckman and Youtuber SunbeamsJess - her style is incredible!
What is the best purchase you ever made?
My oversized black leather jacket from PrettyLittleThing. It wasn't even expensive, but I wear it nearly every single day.
What is the most indulgent purchase you ever made?
This year I made two very indulgent purchases, but I am very proud of myself for being able to do it! I got the small Louis Vuitton Alma Crossbody and the Gucci Soho Disco Bag in red. I absolutely adore them both.
What is your go-to store?
My go-to high street store has to be Zara and then online would be ASOS or PrettyLittleThing.
