Six ways to get your fashion fix at Culture Night

Culture night is back for 2016 and we've selected some of the best fashion events happening around the country.

Grafton Academy of Fashion and Design

Time: 5-9pm

The renowned Dublin fashion school opens its doors to the public tonight for a series of free interactive exhibitions and demonstrations for all ages. Fashion shows will also take place at 6, 7 and 8pm, to celebrate the college's 'Designers of the Future'.

The Design Tower, Dublin

Time: 5-9pm

One for arts and crafts lovers. The Design Tower houses a range of artisan studios; artists, jewellers, conservators and others. Meet the artists and makers at work and enjoy an interactive tour of their studio. Something of interest for the whole family.

CIT Crawford College of Art & Design, Cork

Time: 6-8.30pm

Come along if you’d like to visit a life-drawing class; view film screenings; witness demonstrations in ceramics, glass, textiles and print workshops or get a taste of a photographic studio and darkroom in operation. Staff and students will be on hand to answer questions and give an insight into what life is like at an art college.

NCAD Gallery, Dublin

Time: 5-9pm

The NCAD Gallery will present a two-person exhibition of works by artists Hannah Fitz and Daniel Tuomey. For this exhibition, both artists explore the confluence in their practices, working predominantly in video and sculptural mediums. Hannah Fitz works with artworks in series to create organised exercises between appearance and perception.


DESIGNYARD will showcase Irish designer Eily O'Connell's jewellery

Time: 5-8.30pm

DESIGNYARD will exhibit Irish designer Eily O’Connell’s intriguing jewellery designs. Eily creates treasures of wearable art that have a mysterious and otherworldly presence which leaves a lasting impression. She'll even show you how to forage for your own materials to make jewellery.

International Fashion Exhibit at Mary Immaculate College

Time: 5-7pm

Visitors are invited to enjoy a fashion show depicting the differences in fashion between Irish and international cultures. It will showcase the differences in what is worn to a school formal, social occasions, to class, to a job interview, etc. between cultures. Something a little bit different for all ages.
