Kate Middleton is embracing the power of print during the royal tour of Scandinavia.
The Duchess of Cambridge (36), who is expecting her third child with Prince William, is already a master at maternity dressing thanks to her super stylish pregnancies with Prince George and Princess Charlotte; and she introduced all-new pieces to the public in Sweden over the last two days.
For their last night in Sweden before travelling to Norway this morning, she wore a blue velvet floral dress by Erdem, a British designer she also wore on the first day of her visit. Kate is preferring to adopt loose fitting dresses customised for her bump rather than sticking exclusively to her favourite maternity brands like Seraphina. She finished off her look with a pair of silver oval earrings and suede navy pumps by Gianvito Rossi D’Orsay.
For a dinner on Tuesday night at the British ambassador to Sweden's residence, she wore another Erdem number in its signature floral pattern, but getting outside her comfort zone in a hard-to-pull-off yellow silk gown with Victorian collar. And she paid fitting homage to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana with her accessories, wearing a pair of Diana's drop pearl earrings.
Kate prefers an even sleeker look on royal tours, incorporating bold colours and daring prints, especially in comparison to the conservative looks she wears on her home soil in Britain. She still wears her signature flesh coloured tights, but royal tours are a whole other ball game for her glam squad.
The mother-of-two kicked off her trip with a red and white houndstooth coat by Catherine Walker, later revealing a white boucle shift dress by Alexander McQueen underneath and a pair of burgundy pumps by Tod's.
And she has been fittingly incorporating Swedish designers into her looks: the duchess traditionally mixes British designers with that of the country she is visiting, opting for a pair of baroque pearl earrings by in2Design, while Sweden's Princess Victoria opted for a clutch by British designer Stella McCartney during one of their many meetings over the last two days.
Yesterday, she wore all green by Catherine Walker, including a dress coat and shift dress, with a black Mulberry bag and knee high boots by Russell & Bromley.
For some competition with William as they attended a Bandy hockey match, she wrapped up in a jumper by Fjallraven, Burberry coat and faux fur hat by Eugenia.
