Exclusive: First Look at Dublin's newest must-shop store & Other Stories
The wait is over at last - the keenly awaited Scandi label & Other Stories finally opens in Dublin next week, much to the excitement of Irish shoppers, who have been faithfully buying the brand online for years. Their Irish storytelling starts with a collection aptly called Celebration
The first chapter from the & Other Stories retail story in Ireland kicks off on Dublin's Grafton Street next Friday with pieces from the brand's Celebration collection, which couldn't be more perfectly timed for the party season.
The philosophy behind & Other Stories is for its customers to create their very own fashion narrative. It helps enormously that the brand is designed at two ateliers at either end of Europe, so they speak with two very distinct design voices and aesthetics.
Big sister - and most definitely POSH sister - to the hugely successful COS brand, & Other Stories bosses say their Paris atelier brings a feminine aesthetic, while Stockholm gives a more minimalist touch
This season's Paris collections feature a dark palette that is brought to life through the shiniest of embellishments and the prettiest of textures, which you can see from our main image and the other eye candy in today's exclusive preview.
The ready-to-wear from Paris features elaborate coats, dresses and trousers in a black colour scheme that is highlighted by different textures, sequins and embellishments. I bought their decorative shoes and bold accessories at their store on Rue Saint-Honoré in the City of Light, and I fully expect Irish fashionistas who, to date, are unfamiliar with the brand, to enjoy the eclectic Parisian flair of the range which really captures the essence of the festive season - from those velvet ankle boots, also available in pink, to the ruby sequined dress, the plush mules and sequinned bralet top.
I love the contrast of a sharp and edgy silhouette. On opening day, watch out for tempting over-the knee boots with a flat heel (€325), high-heeled shoes with faux fur details (€85), and the retro-style cracked patent leather box clutch (€75).
Party essentials like false eye lashes start at €12, and their gifting options, such as scented candles, cost €19.
