Colin and Claudine Farrell are the Met Gala's best-dressed duo - while Saoirse Ronan, Eve Hewson and Catriona Balfe make show-stopping statements
The annual Met Gala in New York is the highlight of the fashion calendar and some of our homegrown stars were there to rock the red carpet in style.
With this year's fashion and technology Met Gala theme, people were excited to see what A-listers and designers would dream up. There were plenty of looks that pushed the limit and others who played it safe and wore metal, metal, and — you guessed it — more metal.
The list of gorgeous people in basically the same ensemble goes on and on, from Taylor Swift to Brie Larson and Kendall and Kylie Jenner, that's why we were happy to see some stars interpret the "Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology" theme in their own way.
Irish actor Colin Farrell (39) brought his sister Claudine to the event, hosted by Vogue editor Anna Wintour and Taylor Swift, and stuck to his signature style.
The Castleknock native looked dapper in a classic three-piece tuxedo and black suede shoes, while his stunning sister Claudine (43) looked elegant in a heavily embellished black dress.
Outlander star, Catriona Balfe, also flew the flag for Irish style as she walked the red carpet in a burgundy, velvet Roland Mouret gown teamed with Kurt Geiger pumps.
Bono's daughter Eve Hewson stunned in a molten, strapless Monse dress that was given an edgy vibe with her wine-stained lip and sleek raven hair.
Also in attendance was Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan who managed to make futuristic feathers a thing in her custom-made Christopher Kane gown. The ivory column dress featured a feathered collar and butterfly embroidery.
The 22-year-old stepped out at the after-party in a shorter version of the dress that showed off her killer legs and quirky platform shoes.
