Fashion file - Darren Kennedy... how to wear dungarees
As the 90's revival continues at full-throttle, dungarees seem to be a natural development from jumpsuits that have been popular for the past few seasons.
They were the catwalk stars at Ralph Lauren, Margiela, Ashish and Stella McCartney to name but a few, but this season's dungarees are leaning towards a clean, minimalist aesthetic with a somewhat wholesome vibe. From Alexa Chung, Miranda Kerr and Pixie Lott, this childhood staple, characterised by braces, straps and bibs, is pretty, laidback and comes with feel-good nostalgia aplenty. Potentially tricky to pull off, style a denim pair with a bold knit underneath to break up the denim while there's still a nip in the air. For a look that packs more punch, a brightly printed under-layer teamed with bright accessories and a cool pair of kicks is just the ticket. Denim isn't the only horse in town, you'll find dungarees in leather, floaty florals and shorts.
