Darren Kennedy: Raise your game
Mix sport athleisure with formalwear for an edgier look.
Getting on track
From high-end designers such as Balenciaga right through to retro sportswear labels such as Kappa and Fila, the athleisure trend has been hugely prevalent in recent seasons, bringing with it scores of throwback fashion. For AW17, formalwear is taking a backseat and you'd be better served heading to your local sports shop to pay homage to the retro sportswear trend.
Two-piece tracksuits were all the rage first time round, and while I've spotted several hipsters in Shoreditch doubling up their trackie, personally I think it's best to steer clear of the look - it's far too considered. Forgo the omni-present skinny joggers and instead incorporate a zip up track-jacket into your wardrobe. Style with more formal items such as a pair of double-pleat cropped trousers to give an altogether more subtle nod to the trend. Clashing sportswear with formalwear is also another huge trend this season, so you're covering both bases with this look.
