We're deeply dippy about this new round of 1990s looks.

A fresh twist

We've witnessed 1990s' nostalgia on many of the catwalks over the past number of seasons, and the latest trend to make its way into the mainstream is tie-dye (short for 'tie, twist and dye', for those of you too young to remember it first time round). It's a love-it-or-hate-it trend: there's no middle ground with the hippie, slightly psychedelic print.

Given its roots, it's a style the lends itself readily to festival season but it isn't just for hippie-dippy pieces. For summer, the trend was seen all over the runways in fresh new iterations across a range of pieces, from lightweight separates to outerwear. At Altuzarra, breezy plunging dresses with high slits where given the tie-dye treatment.

The result: beautiful day dresses suitable to be smartened up for a cocktail event. The inherently cool pattern lends a free-spirited sensibility to any ensemble and is a great way to add some colour to a look. On the high street, stores such as Penneys and River Island have opted for tie-dye prints in shades of cool blue, aqua, purple and pastel pink.

Want to try tie-dye but worried you might look like something out of Woodstock?

Then give your tie-dye the Parisian treatment and try a pair of printed boyfriend jeans worn with a simple black blouse and black heels, for an insanely chic weekend outfit.

I used to be reluctant to apply any additional oil to my skin. Who wants greasy skin, right? I’ve since discovered that using certain oils can have the most brilliant effect. One such product is

No. 31 Hydrating Calming Facial Oil from Marie-Stella-Maris, an all-natural grooming line that sources botanical organic ingredients to nourish and hydrate the skin. This non-greasy oil instantly nourishes without leaving a sticky residue. What’s more, it’s formulated with lavender extract, to calm and balance neglected skin, and vitamin E to soothe irritation and smooth fine lines. Use it on its own or do as I do and mix a few drops into your everyday moisturiser to give it a boost; €44,
