Clever Couture: Mary Katrantzou from catwalk to high street
Mary Katrantzou is the go-to lady for prints these days. Bold, brave and loud; her clothes have an explosive impact.
Originally from Greece, the London-based designer has become known for her hyper-realistic prints. Mirror patterns have been a signature element in her collections for the past few seasons, which the high street has enjoyed picking up on; see 'Five of the Best' below.
This season, her inspiration has come from crushed car sculptures and metal objects as well as nature-inspired seascapes and florals.
This dress from Penneys features an underwater scene complete with tropical fish and floral overlay. With its sculpted shape and eye-catching colour palette, it's bang on the Katrantzou money.
Finish with these sky-blue metallic court shoes or, for an edgier take, go for these block-heel sandals complete with Perspex and suede panels.
