Bairbre Power: Pearls of wisdom
Traditional accessories worn with a twist
Sometimes high-street brands take you by surprise, which is exactly what happened with Ted Baker this summer.
I'm a fan of their well- tailored clothing line and they are exceedingly strong on signature prints, which carry over into matching accessories and prove handy for those shopping for summer special occasion wear.
This season, I couldn't help but notice how much their jewellery line has stepped up a few notches. Personally, I like my pearls with a twist rather than a traditional string with cashmere. The Ted Baker Galini pearl cluster necklace (€110, pictured below has a chunky feel while the Noraa crystal and pearl studs (€45) have double impact. There's a matching Nyssa ring to complete the look for €45.
The pearl cluster necklace looks good with a white shirt and, for this shoot, stylist Laura Mullett also layered up the Galini with a cat pendant (€49) for a tumble fall look on a dressy pink cold- shoulder frilled top (main photo, above), which comes from Miss Selfridge. If you like animal motif jewellery, they also have the Ted Spike rose gold bulldog pendant (€49), which matches the Olivia watch, €175.
Ted Baker jewellery is available from Weir & Sons on Grafton Street, Dublin 2, and from selected jewellers nationwide.
