Aretha Franklin has suffered a broken toe at the hands of her Jimmy Choos.
The soul legend had a fall on Friday while on the road to promote her album A Woman Falling Out Of Love.
The iconic songstress fell in her hotel suite after stumbling on one of her Jimmy Choo heels that had become caught on her foot.
Aretha says she was initially shocked by the pain of her shoe-related injury.
“[It] hurt like heck for a minute, but seemed to subside,” she claimed via her rep.
Aretha checked into the Community North Hospital in Indianapolis a few days later where an X-ray revealed a fracture in her left index toe.
The 69-year-old star says despite the pain being uncomfortable, the situation could have been worse. The songstress, who is scheduled to perform today, is thankful the injury will not affect her concert.
“I’m so grateful it wasn’t my right piano [pedal] foot,” she said.
Aretha is more concerned about her new stage outfits matching her rather awkward looking hospital footwear. The award-winning singer has joked that her scheduled show attire will clash with the blue colour of the foot cast.
“How am I supposed to match my new Marc Jacobs gown with this wooden blue hospital shoe?” she quipped.
