Have you seen Rosabotanica, below right, €67.30 – the latest perfume creation from the House of Balenciaga?
It's a follow up to last year's fabulous Florabotanica, also created by Olivier Polge and Jean-Christophe Herault.
I think I love the bottle more than the actual fragrance! It's like a piece of art on my dressing table.
The contemporary black-and-white striped cap and oversized pump contrasts so cleverly with the colourful and elaborate bouquet of exotically shaped flowers on the flacon.
I adore the lovely balance of contemporary and vintage that looks super-cool and really looks designer-y.
Anyway, enough about the bottle, what about the juice?
As the flowery name would suggest, this perfume is a heady, rose-based scent, with top notes of hyacinth, fig leaf and petitgrain. The heart notes are of delish rose, grapefruit, cardamom and pink pepper, and base notes of white amber, cedar, vetiver and patchouli.
So, really, what it's like is a spicy rose fragrance, making Rosabotanica a truly stunning, intoxicating scent . . . both inside and out.
