They're two of the brightest young things at London Fashion Week -- and they're both Irish.

JW Anderson (29) and Simone Rocha (26) are the only designers chosen by the British Fashion Council to receive catwalk sponsorship for their autumn/winter 2013 shows in the UK capital.

Rocha's will take place this morning but Anderson was the focus of attention at the TopShop Show Space last night. His show was all about 'glorifying dullness' and drew a cool celebrity crowd including TV presenter Alexa Chung, who wore an Aran jumper and latex cream JW skirt. Guests sipped bubbly and ate Chinese food in cartons before being ushered in to see the collection -- described as "an examination of cacophonic chemistry".

A cavalcade of models revealed his vision for autumn/winter including stunning, narrow silhouette coats with high slashes front and back, revealing a matching skirt beneath.

Long dresses resembling hospital theatre gowns with the back missing, are part of his upcoming styles where he sets out to "reconcile opposites through textural bipolarness".

Carine Roitfeld, one of the most influential women in world fashion, praised Anderson's show after dashing from the Tom Ford catwalk show to catch it.

"This show, the casting, the make-up, all the clothes and the way he put the clothes together, the story he was telling was really amazing," said the former editor of French 'Vogue', who is now global fashion director with 'Harper's Bazaar'.

Earlier Ford delighted his A-list audience with embellished lace and leopard print galore. Shelly Corkery, fashion director of Brown Thomas, said she loved the "embroidered oversized coats which were pure opulence, total luxury and full of colour".

Love was in the air at Burberry's show, with Hollywood stars and pop singers looking on from the front row.

The British fashion giant's autumn/winter 2013 showcase took place in a custom-built marquee in the capital's Kensington Gardens, and featured a performance by this year's Brit Awards Critics' Choice winner Tom Odell.

Actresses Kate Beckinsale and Freida Pinto, pop stars Rita Ora and Tinie Tempah, Burberry model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Olympic cyclist Victoria Pendleton and American 'Vogue' editor Anna Wintour, turned out to see the show.

The Trench Kisses show featured Burberry's trademark trench coats splattered with hearts, and dresses with big gold hearts on the shoulder, as well as animal print and rich reds.
