Actress Chloë Sevigny tells how high fashion houses do not court her
Chloë Sevigny has been snubbed by designers.
The actress said that despite her cool and stylish image, high fashion houses do not court her.
The star is known for her casual and edgy fashion sense and has recently landed her second ad campaign with Miu Miu.
But despite her fashion connections, Chloë struggled to get a dress for the premiere of her controversial drama Hit & Miss.
Out of 20 dresses she asked to be sent to her for consideration, the 37-year-old only received two.
“Aren’t I one of the top searches on Style.com, for crying out loud?” she joked with ‘Out’ magazine “How hard is it to get a f**king dress from Valentino?”
Despite the sartorial knock-back, Chloë’s connections to the fashion industry continue to run deep.
She acts as a muse to friends and Proenza Schouler design duo Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez and continues to work with retailer Opening Ceremony.
“She’s true to herself and approaches everything she does with passion and energy,” Humberto Leon, co-owner of the store said of the star. “To say she’s hands-on would be an understatement. She sketches; she’s there for fittings. I don’t think many people know that she can actually sew.”
