Ace up your sleeve
With an eye on the catwalk, the central court and the gym, we decided to go sporty for our shoot. Those long July evenings will be perfect for going on playful dates and looking the part.
Leading designers such as Alexander Wang, Pucci and Proenza Schouler all showed active and sporty influences on their collections this season, and you can replicate the vibe by making the most of bargains in the summer sales.
The excitement of Wimbledon is enough to propel us off the couch and on to the courts. You don't need the conventional cotton dress or skirt/top combo these days, so why not turn up to play in a gorgeous, white crochet dress like this one (left) from Karen Millen.
Turn it into a fashion ace and make it pay for itself by wearing the virginal white side on the court, then switch the lining for night-time re-invention. Opt for sultry coral or a zingy lime peeping through. We spotted it at Clerys, which is now holding sales of up to 50pc off across all departments. Check the tags because you could find discounts on the pieces featured in our shoot.
Stylist Courtney Smith suggests achieving the look with "colour blocking, clean lines and comfortable fabrics with a structured design to get your sexy yet sporty effect. Team comfy-looking clothing with heels to achieve a catwalk effect".
