5 of the best...hair smoothing products
My hair is dry and over-processed and has been for as long as I can remember, therefore I've had no choice but to become an expert and fervent consumer of smoothing, frizz-reducing hair products.
It's rare for one product to work for all hair types, therefore, you have to consider your hair's texture and its habits before choosing a product.
If, like me, your hair is porous, you can afford to use an extremely heavy-duty product like Joico's Smoothing Balm, which when activated with heat, really does deliver a sleek blowdry. If you're at your wits end with frizz, try Bumble & Bumble's Concen-straight Smoothing Treatment, which is like an at-home 12-week blowdry only without the suspicious ingredients. However, don't use it if you've just had your colour done as it may cause some fading.
Rather than creams, people with fine but frizzy hair should opt for sprays or serums. I'd recommend Bed Head's Control Freak and Kerastase Ultime Elixir as they're both hard-working products but won't overload or weigh down the hair.
Ojon's Restorative Finishing Spray is rather amazing too. I've loads of flyaway baby hair, and I've taken to spraying this on to an old (and clean) mascara wand and brushing it through my hair line. It gives shine and hold without leaving the hair sticky or crunchy.
