Darren Kennedy: Time for a reboot
Statement boots to help you put your best foot forward
You really can't enter the coming season without a pair of statement boots. Virtually every designer featured a pair on their AW18 catwalks; from hiking boots at Armani and MSGM to the overtly dramatic offerings at Versace - it is the season to make a bold statement with your footwear.
Prada's leather Chelsea boots, a futuristic take on the classic style, are the result of reworking archival pieces with a contemporary edge. Crafted from leather with tonal suede and mesh accents, they sit on black trainer soles with the house logo in blue at the heel for a subtle pop of colour. While not cheap, they will take you right through to next spring. Hiking boots are going to be huge too. Not your shabby old walking boots, this season's iterations are cool styles you can wear around the city with a pair of jeans at the weekend.

Look for boots that feel simultaneously classic and contemporary, smart yet sporty. These will look great with some tapered jeans, a tee and an overshirt, or will work equally well with smarter, cropped trousers and a basic crewneck sweater.
One for the boys
Pomegranate, raspberry and plum sound like the base ingredients to a delicious summer salad that you'd find on the Amalfi Coast - but luckily there's no need to travel quite so far. Jo Malone London's Pomegranate Noir Cologne has top notes of fruity red berries with a hint of spicy Casablanca lily, and settles to a smoky base. The result is a timeless and elegant fragrance that, by all accounts, is perfect for him or her. The ideal unisex summer scent.
