Vogue Williams on Brian McFadden split: ‘I didn’t get married to get divorced… I’m not in a great place’
Vogue Williams has opened up about her split with Brian McFadden and admitted she is “not in a great place”.
The model and presenter revealed that the break-down of her relationship has been difficult even though the split has been amicable and the two remain friends.
“I didn’t get married to get divorced. You know what? I’m not in a great place.
“I find every day is quite stressful, every day I’m upset, you just have to move forward with life,” she said speaking to The Irish Sun.
The Howth native revealed that despite rumours to the contrary, the break-up was not influenced by a third party.
“It just didn’t work.
“He wasn’t with anyone else, I wasn’t with anyone else, it was nothing to do with that. That’s why we find it easier to be friends maybe," she said.
Despite announcing the break-up earlier this summer on Twitter, Vogue revealed that she and Brian are still living together until an alternative situation is sorted out.
“My family find it strange but we’ve only just broken up and I haven’t found somewhere else to live. I’m sure there will be a time when I’m not in contact as much as we are now but until I find somewhere else we’re going to be in each other’s lives,” she said.
The pair wed in 2012 and celebrated with two lavish ceremonies, one of which was a no-expenses-spared extravagant affair in Florence.
Their break-up came as a shock to many as Brian spoke often about the fact that they were "soulmates".
They met in a crowded nightclub and the singer later said that it was a case of love at first sight when he set eyes on the Dublin model.
However, friends of the couple later said that it was "no surprise" that the couple had decided to part ways.
In true celeb style they announced their split on Twitter with near identical statements.
"It is with sadness that Brian and I have made the tough decision to go our separate ways.
"We will always care greatly about each other, remain friends and we wish each other all the very best for the future," Vogue wrote on her account.
