Taylor Swift: ‘I’m the happiest maid of honour ever!’
Taylor Swift has enjoyed a week of firsts after her win at the Grammys on Monday made her the first woman ever to win Album of the Year for the second time.
Her week ended on a high note also as Swift became a maid of honour for the first time on Saturday at her best friend’s wedding.
Swift was the maid of honour at her pal Britany Maack’s wedding which took place on Saturday. Maack married Benjamin LaManna at a ceremony in the chapel of the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters near Alvernia University in Pennsylvania. Swift spoke to People Magazine in May when she found out that she would be the maid of honour.
"I've never been a maid of honour before,” Swift told People Magazine.
“This is my first time, and it's really, really important to me because this is my best friend, who I've known since I was born. And she's marrying someone I've known since I was four.”
Both Swift and Maack wore dresses designed by Lebanese fashion designer Reem Acra. Swift had taken Maack to the Reem Acra showroom over summer to try on different wedding dresses.
The bride's dress was a hand-embroidered silk taffeta ball gown that she wore with a hand-embroidered cathedral veil. Swift wore a rosy pink chiffon cap sleeve gown with a hand-embroidered bodice.
Swift posted a group picture from the wedding which showed her holding the bride’s bouquet on Instagram with the caption
“I met her when I was 10 days old, and him in kindergarten. Now they’re married and I’m the happiest maid of honor ever. Congratulations @britmaack and Ben!”
