Saoirse gets Oscar ready with 'dangerous' highlights from Dublin hairstylist
Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan must be full of nerves as she prepares for this evening’s ceremony in the Beverly Hilton, but at least the Carlow native doesn’t have to worry about her hair.
The actress is said to have prepared for the ceremony with a two hour colour and blow-dry with her favourite hairstylist Conor McAllister from Palmerstown.
Conor has been Saoirse’s hairdresser since she was 14.
According to The Irish Sun, Conor said: “Saoirse had her hair sombre in Brooklyn but I wanted to brighten it up for LA. I suppose I put a bit of danger into it with some extra highlights.
In the past, Conor has accompanied Saoirse to Paris, Madrid, London and New York in preparation for film premieres and award ceremonies.
Speaking to The Irish Independent in 2010, the hairstylist said his opinion of celebrities changed after witnessing the busy schedules of some of the world’s biggest stars.
"If the last six weeks have taught me anything, it's that I will never look at a celebrity the same way again. The kind of hours they do, the life they lead, attending premieres. The great thing about being Saoirse's hairdresser is that everything is a smile with her," he said.
Saoirse will walk down the red carpet at tonight’s ceremony, hopeful to win an Oscar for her performance in Brooklyn, in which she plays an Irish emigrant in New York City.
This is her first nomination since her performance in Atonement in 2007.
