If you've ever wondered why Ryan Gosling has never been named as People's Sexiest Man Alive, it might be that the heartthrob just doesn't want it.
The 34-year-old, known as a sex symbol for most of the last decade, has reportedly turned down the accolade from the celebrity magazine.
Apparently, People attempted to award the new father with the title several times but he has consistently refused.
In 2011, Gosling starred in three major films, 'The Ides of March', 'Crazy, Sexy, Love' and 'Drive'.
It was then that People apparently first offered the title to Gosling but it didn't go over too well at his camp.
According to The Wrap, the consensus was that 'The Notebook' star was "too serious and too artsy" for the title.
When it comes to this year, People's editorial director said Ryan wasn't up for the honour.
The magazine said the current title holder Chris Hemsworth was their first and only choice.
Since its 1985 launch, “Sexiest Man” has some alumni most people would deem substantial actors: George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper and Tom Cruise to name a few.
In September, Ryan and his partner Eva Mendes welcomed their first child Esmeralda Amada into the world.
It's been reported that Ryan and Eva, who met on the 2011 movie The Place Beyond The Pines, intend to marry by next year.
