It's a different result for thespians Diane Kruger, who gets the thumbs up, while Tilda Swinton doesn't receive such a glowing review.

Hit - Diane Kruger

We know that Diane Kruger is an actress. We know that she's worked with such movie luminaries as Mr Tarantino and Mr Pitt.

We even know that she's been going out with the really quite cute Joshua Jackson for quite a long time.

But we don't care about any of that.

What we really like about Ms Kruger is that she always, always, gives good red carpet. And this Mary Katrantzou dress is no exception.

On someone a little less classy, it could resemble a skimpy version of a technicolour dreamcoat, but Diane makes it seem chic and sexy, thanks to the short hem.

She was clearly determined to stand out at her own premiere - she stars in a US remake of The Bridge.

Yawn, we really don't care.

We just lover her dress, not to mention her cute plastic handbag…

Miss- Tilda Swinton

We took one look at Ms Swinton and had to avert our eyes.

Now, don't get us wrong. We do appreciate a classic tuxedo jacket (especially a white one), and we're big fans of minimalism (when we're not raving about frills and ruffles, that is), but not when it looks like this.

Many people are blinded by Tilda's star power. But not us.

Ill-fitting shiny champagne-coloured trousers are never a good look, especially when teamed with a sludge-coloured shapeless top.

Honestly, Tilda, we know you pride yourself on your quirky individuality, but this is a red-carpet event. Have some respect!
