A panicked Pierce Brosnan made a frantic call to police as his home went on fire - and he was worried one of his cars was about to explode, it has been revealed.

The fire broke out in the garage last week and was extinguished by firefighters in around half an hour.

NBC journalist Kenny Holmes posted pictures on Twitter of the Die Another Day and Golden Eye star talking to firefighters during the incident.

A witness posted a video on YouTube which is believed to show footage of the blaze.

"We've got a fire at the garage," a clearly distressed Brosnan is heard saying in the audio released by TMZ.

"Don't go near the car," the 61 year-old roars while on the phone, presumably to his wife Keely Shaye Smith.

Police say they still don't know what caused the fire and the investigation is ongoing.
