Mick Jagger 'is not in a relationship with the woman expecting his eighth child'
The imminent arrival of Mick Jagger’s eighth child was announced earlier this week, but new reports have suggested that the rocker is not in a romantic relationship with Melanie Hamrick, the 29-year-old woman expecting his baby.
According to The Irish Daily Mirror, Jagger and Hamrick are in a ‘casual relationship’, meeting up every few months but the musician has vowed to support her as she prepares to welcome her first child.
“It’s a very casual relationship, they see each other every now and again and really enjoy each other’s company,” the source said.
“They aren’t living together and don’t plan to. But Mick will look after the baby 10 times over. There is talk of buying a house for Melanie.
“He was shocked beyond belief at the news she was expecting but will do whatever it takes to support Melanie and the child.”
The pair first began seeing each other in 2014, following the death of Jagger’s girlfriend L’Wren Scott, who died by suicide.
The New York based dancer is said to be considering a move to Los Angeles to be closer to Jagger ahead of her due date, but is alternatively looking at homes in Connecticut where her family is based.
Jagger hit the headlines this week when the news that he was expecting his eighth child emerged. The 73-year-old rocker has seven children, Karis Hunt Jagger (45) from his relationship with Martha Hunt, Jade Jagger (44) (who he welcomed with his ex-wife Bianca). Jagger has four children with his ex, Jerry Hall, Elizabeth (32), James (30, Georgia (24) and Gabriel (19). The youngest Jagger is Lucas (17), whose mum is Brazillian model Lucinda Gimenez. The musician is also a grandfather many times over, and also a great-grandfather.
