Me, most beautiful? That's a laugh, says Bullock
AMERICAN show business bible 'People' magazine has named actress Sandra Bullock the World's Most Beautiful Woman for 2015.
When told of the news the actress, who is still one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood, said: "I laughed. No, really, I just said 'That's ridiculous,'" Bullock (50), said, adding that she'd told no one the news.
The actress is in exalted company. Last year's Most Beautiful Woman was actress Lupita Nyong'o.
Other winners include actress/singer Jennifer Lopez, actress Jennifer Aniston and actress Gwyneth Paltrow.
"It's one of my favourite ones," Jess Cagle, 'People's editorial director, said of the nomination of Bullock.
"The photos are staggering when you look at them and you realise that this woman just gets better and better over time," Ms Cagle said on 'Good Morning America'. "She has defined her life the way she wants to live it."
In an interview with the magazine, the 'Gravity' star opened up about the joy of motherhood to son Louis (5).
She said her role as mother is the one that makes her feel most beautiful.
"When I first held him, I realised what my purpose in life was," she said. "I'm the lucky one."
She spoke about her definition of beauty and what she's learned about love.
"Everything I've learned about love I've learned from Louis, and that there is no such thing as being done loving. We have a lot of it," she said.
Motherhood has changed her, she said.
When her son asks her serious questions, she is honest with him on a level he can comprehend.
"It's a beautiful thing," she said.
"I want him to be a good man who is good to women and really in touch with how he feels."
