Angelina Jolie’s ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton has tied the knot for the sixth time in a secret ceremony in Los Angeles last autumn.

The 59-year-old Bad Santa actor and his partner, 49-year-old makeup artist Connie Angland, have been together since 2003.

Billy Bob’s representative confirmed to People magazine that the couple married each other “at their home in Los Angeles during a private ceremony before family” on October 22 last year.

Billy Bob and Connie welcomed daughter Bella in 2004, his fourth child and her first. The pair began dating shortly after his highly publicised 2003 divorce from Angelina Jolie.

Following his fifth failed marriage with Angelina, Billy Bob spoke about how delighted he was to have established a relationship with Connie.

"My life is pretty much the way it's always been, except I'm not in a celebrity relationship," he told USA Today.

"And I feel pretty good about that. I don't miss it."

Billy Bob and Angelina were officially married from 2000 to 2003 and their entire union was publicly scrutinised throughout.

In 2008 during an interview with Maxim magazine, Billy Bob made it clear marriage didn’t really appeal to him anymore.

"I told Connie I didn't want to put her through that. We do fine," he told the publication.

"If we get married, then the press will start calling her 'number six'."

Billy Bob is currently celebrating after being named best TV miniseries actor at last month’s Golden Globe Awards thanks to his role in Fargo.

And while accepting his trophy at the event, the extremely private celebrity explained to the audience why he decided on keeping his speech brief.

"These days you can get in a lot of trouble no matter what you say, you know what I mean?" Billy Bob said.

"You can say anything in the world and get in trouble. I know this for a fact. So I'm just going to say thank you!"
