Victoria Beckham’s high-heel threshold is a science that’s long been questioned but it seems that even she can’t bear the sight of them sometimes as she’s been pictured cosying up to a pair of yellow slippers.

The fashion designer is rarely seen tottering without her trademark skyscraper heels but clearly couldn’t wait to slip into something more comfortable on a flight from Hong Kong to Beijing yesterday.

In a photo posted to her Twitter account, Victoria posed with her hair stylist Ken Paves and the pair both donned matching yellow slippers as they jetted out of the Chinese city where she hosted an amfAR fundraising event.

The high-heel devotee recently shocked with a collection that heavily featured flat shoes.

In the past she has said: “I just can't concentrate in flats. I could go to the gym if I wore flats, I'd love to go to the gym, but I just can't get my head around the footwear.”

Meanwhile, Victoria recently came out in support of her good friend Sir Elton John who announced his boycott Dolce and Gabbana following their comments regarding children conceived through IVF.

Sir Elton, who has two children with his husband David Furnish, rebuked the pair for criticising same-sex families and the use of fertility treatment.

Beckham tweeted: "Sending love to Elton David Zachary Elijah & all the beautiful IVF babies x vb."
